Stars and Stripes This spring Alpha Tau Omega fraternity is partnering with Project 22 to introduce the first annual ATO Stars and Stripes philanthropy. This event consists of a obstacle course competition in which all the proceeds go to the Oregon chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America. The Oregon PVA works on removing barriers in the houses of soldiers who have been paralyzed, and also gives them opportunities to adjust to this very new way of life. Another beneficiary through this event is the South Corvallis Food Bank which will be supported through a canned food drive since 13% of the homeless population in the U.S. Are veterans. The canned food drive will take place on April 20th in the Memorial Union Quad and the obstacle course will take place on April 21st at the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity lawn.
Giving Back ATO has a powerful philanthropy presence on campus. We have raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society, CARDV, and the Service for Sight by participating in campus wide events such as Mock Rock, Sing, Anchor Splash, and The Relay For Life. We also volunteer at the Jefferson Elementary School Carnival every year in order to give back to the Corvallis community at large, and also have our own philanthropy event: ATO Stars and Stripes, which benefits the Oregon Paralyzed Veterans of America.
